Our Why
Black Mind Press was created from a simple but deeply important belief: our children deserve an education that reflects the fullness, brilliance, and richness of who they are.
As Black parents, we recognize that too often, the histories, contributions, cultures, and intellectual achievements of African people and the African diaspora are overlooked, minimized, misrepresented, or removed from traditional educational spaces. We believe our children should grow up knowing more than fragments of their history. They deserve to understand the civilizations, innovations, traditions, literature, and cultural legacies that have shaped the world and continue to shape who we are.
Whether a family is homeschooling or simply seeking meaningful enrichment beyond the traditional classroom, Black Mind Press exists to make culturally grounded, academically enriching resources accessible. Our purpose is to help children develop a deeper understanding of their heritage, a lasting sense of cultural pride, and the confidence that comes from knowing who they are and where they come from.
